Green Procurement

Green Procurement Initiatives for Coexistence with the Environment

The Foster Group is working on two environmental challenges: "responding to climate change" and "contributing to the realization of a circular economy and conserving the global ecosystem." We aim for a sustainable society by deepening cooperation with our business partners. To promote the manufacture of products with low environmental impact, we are actively advancing the procurement of environmentally friendly materials and components.

Green Procurement Standards

The Foster Group has established the "Green Procurement Standard" which summarizes the items we request from our business partners regarding the environmental aspects of the "Foster Group Sustainability Code of Conduct." This standard sets forth the basic policy for environmental activities, including continuous improvement of the environmental management system, realization of a decarbonized society, realization of a circular economy, coexistence with nature and realization of biodiversity, compliance with environmental laws and regulations, and promotion of environmental education.

We ask our business partners to practice environmental activities based on this standard, and we hold environmental briefing sessions every year in the Japan, China, and Vietnam regions to promote compliance with environmental regulations.

Standard for the Management of Environmentally Hazardous Substances

The Foster Group has established the "Standard for the Management of Environmentally Hazardous Substances H1002" to clearly define the "prohibited substances," "information transmission," "request for surveys to business partners," and operation regarding "chemical substances contained in raw materials, parts, components, packaging materials, auxiliary materials, etc." procured by the Foster Group, in order to comply with legal regulations and customer requirements.

The Foster Group aims to contribute to the preservation of the global environment together with our business partners by promoting environmentally conscious procurement activities based on the Green Procurement Standard and the "Standard for the Management of Environmentally Hazardous Substances H1002."
