Basic Policy

  1. 1Foster Electric Company Limited (hereinafter referred to as “Foster”) is fully aware of its social responsibility to protect personal information of customers, business partners, shareholders, employees and others, and to ensure public trust. Foster also considers personal information a precious asset. Foster, therefore, will make all officers and employees (hereinafter referred to as “employees”) thoroughly aware of and enforce strict compliance with applicable laws and internal regulations related to protection of personal information such as the Act on the Protection of Personal Information and ensure the proper handling of personal information which Foster holds.
  2. 2Foster recognizes that leaks, falsification, loss, unauthorized use, or disclosure of personal information of customers, business partners and others could result in a loss of trust from customers, business partners and others as well as a great damage to Foster’s business activities. Foster will take strict measures against employees who engage in such misconduct, including disciplinary action in addition to legal penalties.
  3. 3Foster will establish the following measures to ensure smooth implementation of this Privacy Policy.

Handling Personal Information

  1. 1In order to implement this Privacy Policy, Foster will establish “Personal Information Protection and Management Regulation”, conduct training and education to our employees in a planned manner for ensuring such regulation, regularly inspect and evaluate whether the Policy is complied with, and as appropriate, review our personal information protection and management measures for the maintenance and continuous improvement.
  2. 2In order to prevent the leaking, falsification, loss or unauthorized access, etc. of personal information of customers, business partners and others, Foster will establish and develop regulations regarding information security as necessary and construct appropriate information management system including measures against unauthorized access and computer viruses.
  3. 3Foster will use personal information only within the scope of the purpose of use agreed upon in advance, only by persons authorized to access the information, and only to the extent necessary for our business operations.
  4. 4Foster will not provide or disclose personal information acquired in the course of business to any third party, except with the consent of the individual identifiable by personal information (hereinafter referred to as “the identifiable person”) or with a legitimate reason.

Purpose of Use

Foster will acquire personal information only by proper means. Upon acquisition of personal information, Foster, unless the purpose of use has already been disclosed to the public, will promptly notify the identifiable person of the purpose of use, or publicly announce such information on its website, etc.

Joint Use and Provision to a Third Party

  1. 1When Foster provides personal information to a third party who have joint use of them, Foster will make at least following matters readily accessible to the identifiable person, such as notifying the identifiable person in advance or publicly announcing on its website, etc.

Entrustment

When Foster provides a third party with personal information for entrustment of business, Foster will in advance investigate the third party according to a pre-set standard, conclude the necessary contract, and take all legally necessary measures.

Inquiry regarding Purpose of Use, Disclosure, Correction and Ceasing to Use, etc.

Foster will publicly announce the following matters on its website and meet the request made by the identifiable person in good faith to inform the purpose of use, to disclose, correct, add or delete the content, to cease to use, to erase personal information, and to cease to provide to a third party, etc.
